The Land of Ancient Egypt

This term, Class Five have been exploring Ancient Egypt. We have used drama to re-tell the story of King Menes and how he created the double crown to make Egypt a united country. We learnt about Cleopatra and had our very own courtroom case to decide if women should rule as a pharaoh.

Class 5 have learnt some bizarre theories about the use of pyramids, used freeze frames to explore Howard Carter’s thoughts and feelings, designed Tutankhamun death masks and even had our own pharaoh parade! Some children have brought in their own books and made their own Egyptian models at home to add to our ever-growing class display. We have even had a braided Tutankhamun and a Lego pyramid! Class Five are enjoying learning about Ancient Egypt and there are plenty more mysteries still left to explore!
